WELCOME TO TWO OCEANS CLUSTER !

     We hope you have your boots on, because you’re about to cover a LOT of territory!

COUNTRIES:

The Two Oceans Cluster includes the countries of Southern Africa and the IndianOcean Islands.   We are responsible for 128 people groups within the countries of Namibia, South Africa, Angola, Botswana, Swaziland, Madagascar, and other small islands.  The Two Oceans name is derived from the fact that, at the southern tip of South Africa, the Atlantic and Indian Oceans meet.

DIVERSITY:

The cluster is tremendously diverse in its landscape from desert to rain forest, from beautiful sandy beaches to rugged mountains.  There are rural impoverished villages and modern urban centers.  Some of our urban areas are world-class cities consisting of large international populations co-existing with shanty compounds with little to no infrastructure.  The Indian Ocean Islands have their own unique culture influenced by the African main continent, Asia and their own island flare.

LOSTNESS:

The majority of the people groups retain the long-time influence of animism in their belief system.  We also work among some who hold, either strongly or nominally, to other major world religions. Many of the people groups are resistant to the gospel. But we are finding that some that are difficult to reach due to their remote location, are actually receptive to the gospel message.

 

UPGs & UUPGs:

There are currently 8 unengaged unreached people groups (UUPGs) in the cluster and 51 unreached people groups (UPGs).   Over 86 million people live in these countries and the vast majority do not have a clear understanding of how to have a personal relationship with the Lord Jesus Christ.

VISION:

The vision of Two Oceans Cluster is that every people group will be engaged with the gospel of Jesus Christ, that every believer becomes a reproducing disciple of our Lord, and that indigenous, multiplying churches are planted among every group.
