“All Things Bright and Beautiful…the Lord God Made Them All”

“All Things Bright and Beautiful…the Lord God Made Them All”

Our language tutor is a retired teacher. We had prayed for the Lord to guide and we feel strongly that He lead us to her.  She is Hindu and her husband is Muslim, which is a very unusual combination. She was telling us about her school days as a student here, recalling a song she learned. “All things bright and beautiful, all creatures great and small, all things wise and wonderful, the Lord God made them all…”  We also knew it, so we all began to sing together around her table.

Will you pray for this dear woman with us?  She is helping us learn language, but maybe we can help her know Jesus, the One, True, and Living God.

Language study & Discipleship

Language study & Discipleship
  1. When there is no English, language learning is vital. But at the same time, there are people who need Jesus all around. God is at work, preparing the hearts of some, and growing others who have already trusted him.

Please pray for F & M:

  1. As we continue to learn French.  Our first class ended in May, and the next class doesn’t start ‘til Sept.  We are currently working with a tutor just to keep it fresh.
  2. We are beginning our first home cell group very soon. We are excited about this, as there’s no evangelical work in this little town.
  3. As we continue to disciple S and M.

Woman of Peace

Woman of Peace

M writes:

There is a “woman of peace” on our island who lives in a town where there is no B– church, and she is the only Christian in her neighborhood?  Well, we’ve now had two Bible studies in her home, and just today two of the members prayed to receive Jesus into their hearts!  We have prayed for M and her neighborhood, for 9 months.  God has begun a new work in this little town, and we are rejoicing.  We will be meeting in M’s home for Bible study every week.  Five people attended today (apart from us), and three couldn’t read at all.  Because we are still learning the local language, M translates for us. We are thankful, but her English is poor, and we wonder how well she is translating.  This is just a reminder to us that we must learn this local language well

Will you pray for our language learning

Will you also continue to pray for this new Bible study, that much fruit would come from this small group?

Pray also for the two new converts, J and B, that they would grow daily in the Lord.

Language Acquisition in Madagascar

Language Acquisition in Madagascar

“Faith comes from hearing the message, and the message is heard through the word of Christ.” Pray for all the IMB missionaries in Madagascar as they try communicate the word of Christ in the various Malagasy dialects to those in such great need of Jesus and His Word. The Malagasy language is difficult to master because of a lack of learning resources. But it is essential for missionaries to communicate God’s Word clearly. All the missionaries in Madagascar are at various levels in regards to language mastery but all share one prayer request: A desire to improve in speaking and understanding so that God’s Word can be clearly communicated.

New Journeys – exciting & tiring

New Journeys – exciting & tiring

Joe & Len write:

We have been in our city now for about 6 weeks and we love it!  Thanks so much to all who are praying for our journey.

We have settled nicely into our house and have been busy making it home. We’ve started language classes and have been visiting some local churches now. We’re loving the worship and the people.

* Please pray for us as we continue to transition. I am not sure how long jet-lag lasts…but we all still feel pretty worn out everyday. Pray for strength and renewal.

* Please pray for us as we learn this new language. We would like to be comfortable with greetings and simple conversations. Pray for our language teacher, as we want to be a good witness to her.

Please pray for 10 missionaries in Madagascar who are learning Malagasy.

Please pray for 10 missionaries in Madagascar who are learning Malagasy.

Currently, there are 10 missionaries officially learning the Malagasy language. Nickolee is one of those 10 missionaries and she asks you to pray for: “hearing ears, an understanding mind, and a fluent tongue”. I know all 10 of these missionaries echo that same prayer request. Please pray for continued perseverance and moments of encouragement during their language learning process.
